About This Case Converter

Retyping text because it was pasted in the wrong case is slow and error-prone. This case converter changes capitalization for a whole document at once, whether it is a headline typed with caps lock on, a list in all lowercase, or a paragraph that needs proper sentence case.

Use the buttons above the output box: UPPER CASE makes every letter a capital, lower case makes every letter small, Title Case capitalizes the main words of a headline, Sentence Case capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, and aLtErNaTiNg flips between small and capital letters for a playful effect.

How to Use It

  1. Paste or type your text into the input box.
  2. Click the case you want: UPPER, lower, Title, Sentence or aLtErNaTiNg.
  3. Review the result in the output box.
  4. Click Copy Output and paste it where you need it.

Which Case Should You Use?

  • UPPER CASE — acronyms, labels and short warnings. Long passages in capitals are hard to read.
  • lower case — usernames, tags, URLs and code identifiers.
  • Title Case — headlines, book titles and headings. This tool keeps short words such as "and", "of" and "the" lowercase unless they start or end the text.
  • Sentence case — body text, UI labels and many modern headlines.

Good to know: Sentence case first converts everything to lowercase, so names, places and the word "I" will need a quick manual capital afterward. Style guides differ on exactly which words to capitalize in titles, so check yours (AP, APA, Chicago) if you are publishing formally.

Who Is This Tool For?

  • Writers and editors — fix headlines and pasted text quickly.
  • Students — format titles and references.
  • Marketers — standardize ad copy and email subject lines.
  • Developers — normalize labels and test data.
